Stolen Moments

In my efforts to plan a great event I had to do some house cleaning.
We all know that we need funds to prepare to make funds.
So, I'm planning a garage sale to build funding which mean I had to clean, sort and prepare all items for my listing.
I spent all day organizing the items loads of books.  Ran through childhood memories of some classics - Anansi the Spider, Mosquitoes Buzzing in My Ear, Caps For Sale.  I even did a read aloud to my daughter as there were a couple she hadn't heard before.  It was such a pleasure to have this special time with her and revisit my past.  Too often, we get so caught up in the frantic pace of our lives, that we don't often appreciate those moments. We had a blast together today.
Now it's time to get the items posted ready for sale!!
This garage sale will be a great bargain for anyone attending.  Where else can you go and get Scholastic books hard and soft cover, teaching resources, classroom supplies and so much more for $1-4???
I'm so excited about raising money for this cause, I'm ready to burst.
Sounds a little odd I know, but this is how motivated I am about finding a cure for breast cancer. Each day is another opportunity to find just 1 person that wants to help make a difference or is thankful that we continue to fight in their behalf.
We all know that charity starts at home, and what we put out into the universe comes back ten-fold when we least expect.  I put in the work because I believe in what I'm doing. Can  you say the same?

  1. I am proud of you for clearing the space to make room for more growth, expansion and abundance. You are also doing a great service by teaching your daughter the art of servant leadership. Kudos to you for a job well done!

  2. All we can do is lead by example and hopefully one that is positive. I try to do what I can as often as I can. There are others that have a need for the materials more than I do.

  3. What a great way to look at the past and still move foward with joy and peace. The peace is knowing that your past is giving to the future: a Great Cause.

I set the goal of trying to work toward giving and capture the stolen moments inm life as well. There is something to be said for memories.

  4. Memories last a lifetime and those stolen moments are in the here and now. Those are the one treasured most, because you made time for them and they didn't just happen. We need to remember to enjoy all the moments that we are given.
